Jakarta, 26 July 2023 – PT Mandiri Sekuritas (Mandiri Sekuritas/Company), in collaboration with LindungiHutan, today planted 1001 mangroves in Sukawali Village, Tangerang. The planting was held to coincide with the World Mangrove Day and involved dozens of volunteers consisting of Mandiri Sekuritas employees.

Director of Retail Mandiri Sekuritas, Theodora Manik said, “As part of good corporate citizens, Mandiri Sekuritas is highly committed to concretely and strategically supporting sustainability programs. We believe that planting mangroves plays an important role in protecting our coastal ecosystems, for both the environment and society as they can prevent seawater erosion or abrasion as well as absorbed sea waves during extreme weather, which has been happening more frequently lately.”

Mangrove planting is a part of the Company’s Social and Environmental Responsibility program titled Mandiri Sekuritas Peduli. This program consists of 4 pillars: Financial Literacy, Education, Donations, and Environment. In the Environment pillar, Mandiri Sekuritas has carried out various programs, including campaigns for saving energy, plastic and water, waste management as well as planting hundreds of trees in IPB University forest.

LindungiHutan is a crowd-planting organization that empowers seed farmers and aims to save Indonesia from the deforestation crisis and biosphere destruction by planting mangroves.
